Sez was born in her parents living room in Auckland. She’s the youngest of four and spent a great deal of her childhood living in camper vans and dancing.
Sez sports a BA (Honours) in Acting from Drama Centre London, Central St Martin’s College of Art & Design, University of the Arts London.
She’s the lead actress in the successful independent New Zealand feature film ‘This Giant Papier Mache Boulder Is Actually Really Heavy’. The film has screened at numerous international film festivals and garnered several awards, including Best Comedy at both Boston Sci-Fi and Sci-Fi London Film Festivals.
And she’s an Associate Producer on independent NZ feature film STRAY, which enjoyed it’s World Premiere at the Moscow International Film Festival 2018.
He First AD credits include the NZFC-funded feature film ‘Vermilion’, and the independent feature ‘Older’. And short films ‘Daniel’, ‘Theodora’, ‘Tree’, ‘Nurse Me’ and ‘Restoration’. She’s also First AD’d numerous TV commercials for brands such as Holden, L&P, Cadbury’s and McDonald’s, as well as countless music videos for musicians such as Marlon Williams, Broods, Estere, Doprah and LarzRanda.
“Films have changed my life, given me perspective and scope, moved me to fits of laughter and get-wrenching tears. What other medium can take you on such a journey and help you to understand your own humanity and others’? I’m deeply affected by films and that’s why I love them. Making films is a huge part of who I am. I wouldn’t want to do anything else with my life.”
Sez’s favorite filmmakers are Francis Ford Coppola, Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Paul Thomas Anderson, and David Fincher. Her favorite films include Pulp Fiction, The Godfather Part II, Apocalypse Now, The Royal Tenenbaums, and The Master.
