Finn was born in Auckland the same year the Berlin Wall fell and the Gameboy was released - 1989. He’s the oldest of four - two brothers and a sister. And he’s definitely his parents’ favorite.

After attending Western Springs High with fellow Candlelitters Alix, Rose, and Arlo; Finn studied Film and Philosophy (mostly metaphysics) at Auckland University.

Since then he’s cut a LOT of trailers for tv, and film. Made a bunch of music videos and short films. Taken many photographs. Discovered a love of cooking. And played hella video games.

“I love films that show me something new, ask questions I’d never thought of, hint at things I never thought possible. So I’m predisposed to like sci-fi, comedy and psychedelic film and television.”

He’s currently focussed on producing and directing short films with his favorite writer and best friend Tim Fletcher.

Finn’s favorite directors are Harmony Korine, Spike Jonze, David Lynch, Terrence Mallick and Michael Haneke. His top seven films of all time are Apocalypse Now (Francis Ford Coppola, 1979 cut), Eraserhead (David Lynch, 1977), Tree of Life (Terrence Mallick, 2011), Gummo (Harmony Korine, 1997), Enter the Void (Gaspar Noe, 2009), Akira (Katsuhiro Otomo, 1988), and Under the Skin (Jonathan Glazer, 2013).
